Superintendent

$130,000 - $160,000/Year

The ideal candidate will oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. The Superintendent will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and field staff to maintain smooth operations, ensuring safety and compliance throughout the construction process.

Client Details

Our client is a General Contractor based out of Exton, PA. They have a large diverse portfolio ranging from corporate office, healthcare, warehouse, retail and hi-tech projects. Our client gets 75% of their business from existing relationship and repeat clients. As an organically grown company, they are seeking ambitious Superintendent who want to move up the ladder in the future.

Description

  • Manage and supervise day-to-day construction activities on site, ensuring that all phases of the project are executed according to project plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Lead and coordinate all on-site personnel, including subcontractors, laborers, and other workers. Ensure effective communication and a positive working environment.
  • Enforce safety standards on-site and adhere to all regulatory requirements. Conduct regular safety inspections, toolbox talks, and ensure that all workers have the proper training and equipment.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring that milestones and deadlines are met. Work closely with project managers and subcontractors to resolve any scheduling issues that arise.
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards, and project specifications, and complies with local building codes and regulations. Perform regular inspections and provide feedback to ensure consistent quality throughout the construction process.
  • Monitor project costs and work closely with the project team to manage project budgets. Assist in managing change orders, and resolve cost-related issues as needed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project progress and address any concerns or issues that arise.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, report project progress, and document any issues or changes on-site. Ensure proper paperwork is filed, including permits, inspections, and approvals.
  • Identify and resolve challenges, delays, or issues on the job site to minimize project downtime and ensure timely completion.

Profile

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent, with experience in both commercial and residential construction preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints, project specifications, and construction schedules.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with construction software, scheduling tools, and project management software.
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, walk on construction sites, and lift materials when necessary.
  • Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards
