Product Engineer | Fasteners | Wood Dale, IL
The Product Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving fastener products to meet customer and industry specifications. The Product Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams and with customers to ensure product performance, quality, and cost-efficiency throughout the manufacturing process.

Our client is a leading, global manufacturer of high-quality metal components, serving a variety of industries including Automotive & Aerospace. They have recently made an enormous investment into their Illinois location, and have moved into a state of the art facility near Wood Dale.
Description
- Develop and implement efficient estimation processes for product engineering
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate product costings
- Support New Product Development initiatives, working to develop sustainable manufacturing processes for new production lines.
- Serve as technical point of contact for customers - determine feasibility of manufacturing, and providing project updates
- Conduct market research to maintain knowledge of industry trends and best practices
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies
- Support the development of junior staff through knowledge sharing
- Contribute to team meetings and strategy development sessions
- Handle other duties as assigned by management
Profile
A successful candidate will possess the following:
- 3+ years experience in a Manufacturing/Engineering role
- Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field
- Prior experience conducting quoting/estimating activities for manufacturing
- Experience working with external vendors/subcontractors to assess costs of materials
- Strong ability to read & interpret blueprints & manufacturing drawings
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling software
- Working knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles
Job Offer
- Base salary $80,000 - $95,000 depending on experience
