Legal Secretary (West Hartford)
The Legal Secretary will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the attorneys' practices by providing administrative and legal support in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling confidential information with discretion. Experience supporting attorneys in litigation and/or trusts and estates is strongly preferred.

The firm is known for delivering high-touch, personalized legal counsel and maintaining long-term client relationships. They foster a collaborative and professional work environment, and we are seeking a polished, proactive Legal Secretary to support two high-performing attorneys.
Description
Provide administrative support to two attorneys, including calendar management, travel arrangements, and meeting coordination
Draft, format, and proofread legal documents and correspondence, including pleadings, memos, contracts, and estate planning documents
Manage incoming and outgoing mail, e-filings, and court submissions, ensuring compliance with deadlines and procedural requirements
Organize and maintain physical and electronic filing systems in accordance with firm protocols
Communicate with clients, courts, and other law firms with professionalism and discretion
Assist with billing and time entry, tracking attorney hours and client matters
Handle confidential client and case information with the highest level of integrity and security
Provide backup support to other administrative staff as needed
Profile
5+ years of experience as a legal secretary, preferably within a law firm environment
Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and/or trusts and estates documentation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal document management systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills
Experience with billing software (e.g., Elite, Timeslips, Clio) is a plus
