Accounting Manager - Food and Beverage - NYC
Excellent Accounting Manager opportunity within a leading food manufacturing company. The role will include but not be limited to overseeing the finance team, manage the month-end close activities, and review and/or prepare the balance sheet account reconciliations.

My client is a leading food manufacturing company dedicated to producing high-quality, nutritious, and delicious products for their customers. They are located in the NYC area working on a hybrid work schedule.
Description
Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor a team of 3-5 accountants, providing guidance and support in daily accounting functions.
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting activities, working closely with other departments to analyze cost control and profitability.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors during the audit process and provide necessary documentation for audit reviews.
- Review financial transactions for accuracy, proper documentation, and appropriate classification.
- Assist in tax filings and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Support senior management with financial analysis, reporting, and strategic planning.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., production, operations) to drive cost-saving initiatives and operational efficiency's.
Profile
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA Strongly Preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Experience in the food manufacturing industry is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lead a team and work collaboratively across departments.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
