My client is seeking an Engineering Design Supervisor to lead and oversee a team of CAD designers, ensuring high-quality outputs, adherence to schedules, and continuous improvement in design processes. This role will collaborate closely with engineering and project management teams to drive quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery.

Description

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor the productivity of a team of CAD designers
• Ensure drawings and designs meet specifications, standards, and deadlines
• Act as liaison between design team and cross-functional departments
• Oversee the creation of accurate technical documentation
• Train and mentor new staff and contract designers for fast integration
• Recommend efficient allocation of designer resources to project managers
• Assign and prioritize work to meet department goals
• Establish, maintain, and improve design processes and procedures
• Identify and promote new design tools for efficiency and quality
• Conduct employee performance reviews with constructive feedback

Profile

Education & Experience

• Associate's degree in Engineering or Technology preferred
• 3+ years of demonstrated mentoring or supervisory experience in design
• Technical background with knowledge or hands-on design experience in areas such as mechanical-electrical, sheet metal, piping, heating/cooling products
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including conflict resolution and coaching
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking ability
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Competency with SolidWorks or other 3D modeling software
• E-CAD experience is a plus
