Asset Manager
The Asset Manager will be responsible for monitoring property performance, managing third-party property management firms, and supporting capital planning, budgeting, and compliance efforts across the portfolio. You'll work closely with internal development, finance, and legal teams, as well as external stakeholders such as lenders, housing agencies, and equity partners.

Our client, a leading real estate developer based in Manhattan, is seeking an experienced Asset Manager to oversee the performance and strategic planning of their growing portfolio of market rate and affordable housing developments across New York City. Their portfolio includes mid-rise and high-rise residential properties in various stages of development, lease-up, and stabilization.
Description
As Asset Manager, you will be resonsible for the following:
Oversee the financial and operational performance of a diverse portfolio of multifamily assets (both affordable and market rate).
Monitor property-level budgets, cash flow, rent rolls, and KPIs; identify areas for performance improvement.
Coordinate with property management teams to ensure occupancy, rent collection, compliance, and maintenance standards are met.
Analyze financial statements and prepare regular asset-level reports for senior leadership and equity partners.
Track compliance with affordable housing regulatory requirements (e.g., LIHTC, HPD, HDC, HFA).
Assist in the development and execution of asset-level business plans, including repositioning strategies, CapEx planning, and refinancing initiatives.
Support lender, investor, and agency reporting and audits.
Collaborate with development teams on lease-up projections and transition to stabilization.
Profile
Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Urban Planning, or a related field.
5+ years of asset management experience in multifamily real estate, with exposure to both market rate and affordable housing.
Strong financial acumen and working knowledge of real estate pro formas, IRR, NOI, and debt/equity structures.
Experience with affordable housing programs such as LIHTC, HDC, HPD, and Section 8 is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Excel and property management/reporting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, RealPage).
Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
NYC real estate experience highly preferred.
