My client, a leading construction and development firm headquartered in Richmond, VA, is seeking a Director of Quality to oversee and enhance their quality assurance and control programs for large-scale projects across diverse markets. With a portfolio valued at $2.4 billion, my client serves diverse markets, including healthcare, senior living, multi-family, higher education, K-12, industrial/manufacturing, office, retail, hospitality, government, and recreation. The company specializes in large-scale new construction projects, often exceeding $400 million, with average project sizes ranging from $50 million to $100 million. They also handle smaller renovation projects ranging from $1 million to $5 million.

Description

Position Overview: Director of Quality
My client is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Director of Quality to oversee and elevate their quality assurance and control programs. This senior leadership role will be critical in ensuring that all projects meet the company's high standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the organization's overall quality strategy, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and client expectations.
  • Monitor and evaluate quality performance across projects, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project teams, senior leadership, and stakeholders to drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the implementation of quality management systems and tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Train and mentor staff on quality standards and best practices to ensure consistent application across all projects.
  • Act as a key resource for resolving complex quality issues and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on quality performance and metrics to senior management.

Profile

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management preferred
  • Extensive experience in quality management or senior-level roles within the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, codes, safety regulations, and quality management systems.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Certification in quality management or related disciplines is highly desirable.
