Description

The Chief Construction Estimator will be responsible for:

• Lead and manage all preconstruction and estimating activities for commercial construction projects (ground-up, renovations, tenant improvements, etc.).
• Oversee the preparation of conceptual budgets, hard bid estimates, GMPs, and design-build proposals.
• Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine scope and requirements.
• Solicit, analyze, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids and pricing.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to clarify scope and resolve discrepancies.
• Present estimates and value engineering alternatives to senior management and clients.
• Provide mentorship and oversight to junior estimators and preconstruction staff.
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends, local market conditions, labor rates, and material pricing.
• Ensure all estimating work complies with company policies, procedures, and industry standards.
• Assist in contract negotiations and project hand-off to operations teams.

Profile

The successful Chief Construction Estimator will have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Construction Technology, or related field preferred
• 10-15+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator
• Project experience in one of the core markets; healthcare, life science, academic, and/or commercial
• Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate multiple projects
• Proven leadership ability
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
