Chief Estimator - Healthcare and Life Science Construction
Currently hiring for a Chief Construction Estimator to join one of Boston's most established General Contractors to work on complex healthcare & life science projects in Boston!

Description
The Chief Construction Estimator will be responsible for:
- Lead and manage all preconstruction and estimating activities for commercial construction projects (ground-up, renovations, tenant improvements, etc.).
- Oversee the preparation of conceptual budgets, hard bid estimates, GMPs, and design-build proposals.
- Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine scope and requirements.
- Solicit, analyze, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids and pricing.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to clarify scope and resolve discrepancies.
- Present estimates and value engineering alternatives to senior management and clients.
- Provide mentorship and oversight to junior estimators and preconstruction staff.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends, local market conditions, labor rates, and material pricing.
- Ensure all estimating work complies with company policies, procedures, and industry standards.
- Assist in contract negotiations and project hand-off to operations teams.
Profile
The successful Chief Construction Estimator will have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Construction Technology, or related field preferred
- 10-15+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator
- Project experience in one of the core markets; healthcare, life science, academic, and/or commercial
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate multiple projects
- Proven leadership ability
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
