Project Manager - Public Sector Construction | NYC
We're seeking an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of a $44 million psych ward renovation project in Jamaica, Queens. This is a field-based role ideal for someone who thrives in public sector construction and wants to drive meaningful, complex work forward.
Client Details
Our client is a lean, NJ-based general contractor with a growing portfolio of NYC and NYS agency projects, including OGS, DASNY, and others. The leadership team is hands-on, experienced, and committed to supporting PMs with the resources they need to succeed. This position is open due to a semi-retired team member currently holding the reins until the right hire is made.
Description
Lead day-to-day project execution for a large-scale NYS OGS renovation
Manage subcontractors, budgets, RFIs, change orders, and agency coordination
Maintain project schedule and ensure all state compliance protocols are met
Serve as point of contact between the field, internal team, and agency stakeholders
Profile
A proactive, solutions-oriented PM with 10-15 years of experience leading public sector projects for a general contractor. Must have proven success managing NYS/NYC agency jobs over $30 million (OGS, DASNY, DDC, etc.). Strong leadership, field presence, and agency experience are key.
