Director of Purchasing
The Director of Purchasing plans and executes all purchasing activities related to the acquisition of packaging materials,, raw materials, and ingredients.

Description
- Leads the development of sourcing strategies for material commodities
- Works with the Purchasing team to ensure the stability and reliability of supplier base
- Is responsible for and oversees the Purchasing Spend plan; provides visibility to spend metrics to Finance and other key members of the Company
- Ensures that the team is focused on value improvement initiatives such as cost savings, lead time reductions, inventory management improvements, and 'greening' initiatives
- Conduct RFP's and business proposals. Execute supply agreements and contracts that achieve best total value for Bigelow
- Manages long term, strategic supplier relationships
- Works with Director of Supply Chain Planning to ensure Purchasing Buy Plan aligns with Production Game Plan
- Supports the R&D team in the sourcing of new materials as well as maintaining high quality standards
- Establishes inventory plan for each commodity, and ensures compliance
- Actively supports the organization in the launch of new products, restages, and other initiatives
- Lead the development of departmental KPI's and Supplier Scorecards, including relevant management reporting tools\
- Advocates for and drives system and process improvements
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations, Finance or related field.
- Experience with global supplier base
- Practical experience driving business process improvements, including the use of contemporary system tools
- Solid knowledge of end-to-end manufacturing supply chains
- Demonstrated proficiency using ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools
