The Environmental Health & Safety Specialist will be responsible for ensuring employee health, safety, and environmental compliance within the manufacturing organization. In this role, the specialist will manage and administer programs and policies that promote effective health, safety, and environmental management.

Description

The EHS Manufacturing Specialist will:

• Develop compliance programs for safety areas such as Lockout/Tagout, Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Confined Space Entry, Emergency Action, Fire Prevention, Exposure Control, Waste Minimization, Waste Management, and Contingency Planning.
• Support health and safety audits/inspections, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
• Assist with the development of H&S management systems, including drafting standard operating procedures, guidance documents, and training programs.
• Manage hazardous waste processes, including waste characterization, satellite area inspections, training, and agency correspondence.
• Design and lead training programs on topics such as Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout, Bloodborne Pathogens, Biosafety, Fall Protection, Ladder Safety, Hazardous Waste Management, Respiratory Protection, RCRA/DOT, and HAZWOPER.
• Support industrial hygiene projects, including tasks like personal air sampling, indoor air quality assessments, surface wipe sampling, and qualitative evaluations.
• Conduct job safety analyses and incident investigations.
• Onsite at our Goffstown, NH facility

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering/Science, or related field required
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) required at a manufacturing facility !!
• Primary knowledge of OSHA regulations required, with additional familiarity of EPA, NHDES, CWA, CAA, RCRA, and related federal, state, and local regulations
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training preferred but not required
• Professional EHS certification (CSP, ASP, OHST, or similar) preferred but not required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours if needed
• Local to Goffstown, NH
