Assistant Project Manager - High End Residential Construction

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting the Project Manager in day to day activities to drive the project forward. Such as but not limited to, RFIs, Submitals, Change Orders, Site Visits as needed, etc.

Our client is an award winning builder with over 20 years in business. They are a mid sized company with a strong pipeline of work for 2025.

Description

The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Support the Project Manager in overseeing residential construction projects from inception to completion.

  • Assist in developing project schedules, budgets, and work plans.

  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

  • Monitor project progress, address any issues that arise, and provide timely updates to stakeholders.

  • Ensure all construction activities comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.

  • Conduct site visits to inspect work quality, track progress, and resolve field issues.

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and daily reports.

  • Facilitate clear communication between clients, project teams, and external partners.

  • Assist in the procurement of permits and approvals as needed.

  • Support cost control and budgeting efforts to keep projects within financial constraints.

Profile

The successful Assistant Project Manager will have the following skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

  • Ideally 2+ years of experience in residential construction or project management support.

  • Knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask effectively.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project) and project management software.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits.
