Assistant Estimator- Commercial Construction

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Assistant Estimator with 3+ years of construction experience to join a reputable general contractor in Miami.

Description

• Assist in the preparation of accurate cost estimates and bids for commercial and healthcare construction projects

• Read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to perform detailed quantity takeoffs

• Solicit subcontractor and supplier pricing, ensuring competitive and accurate quotes

• Support the development of preconstruction budgets, scope reviews, and bid packages

• Work collaboratively with project managers, senior estimators, and field teams to ensure cost accuracy and project alignment

• Maintain organized documentation of all estimates and bid data for future reference

Profile

• Minimum of 3 years of construction experience, preferably in a GC or estimating role

• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and project specifications

• Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar tools)

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

• A proactive mindset and eagerness to learn and grow within the estimating function
