Description

We are seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager or Senior Preconstruction Manager to join a fast-paced and growing organization. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a strategic mindset who thrives in dynamic, client-facing environments. You will be responsible for managing and delivering preconstruction efforts across a range of exciting projects. The successful candidate will have a background in conceptual preliminary budgets, hard bid work, and client interaction. You will work closely with the Partner and Project Executive to manage and drive key deliverables.

The Preconstruction Manager - Commercial Interiors - Alexandria, VA will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the preconstruction process for high-end interior projects, from initial concept to final budget.
  • Develop and manage conceptual preliminary budgets, particularly for Class A office spaces.
  • Collaborate with brokers, construction managers, and potential clients to define and execute strategic pursuits.
  • Provide strategic solutions to overcome challenges and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Manage 2-3 deliverables per week, with the ability to handle 1-2 deliverables independently.
  • Coordinate with the team and clients to ensure timely and accurate delivery of preconstruction plans.
  • Act as the first point of contact for incoming project inquiries and be client-facing.
  • Build and grow the preconstruction department, with mentorship opportunities for future team members.
  • Use software tools such as CMIC, Bluebeam, and BuilderConnected for estimating and project management.

Profile

The Preconstruction Manager - Commercial Interiors - Alexandria, VA will have the following qualifications:

  • Preconstruction Manager: 5+ years of experience estimating for a general contractor in high-end interior construction.
  • Senior Preconstruction Manager: 7+ years of experience estimating with a focus on high-end interior projects, particularly in Class A office spaces.
  • Experience with conceptual preliminary budgets and hard bid work is a plus.
  • Strong client-facing experience and the ability to lead discussions with brokers and construction managers.
  • Flexible, solutions-oriented, and able to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Experience with CMIC, Bluebeam, BuilderConnected, or similar project management software.
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables efficiently, with keen attention to detail.
