Senior Manufacturing Engineer
This Manufacturing Engineer will have the opportunity to join an AS 9100, direct Aerospace supplier based out of an 100,000 sq. ft. facility just west of Chicago. This individual should have a background in metals manufacturing, experience utilizing design software, and a 'Hands On' Mentality. Every day will be a new, exciting challenge and you will be joining a team of seasoned engineers.

Our client, an Aerospace (AS 9100) and industrial markets supplier based just west of Chicago, was established more than 70 years ago. They are a family run business and describe themselves as a one stop shop where they can serve their customers in a full service style. Currently in an 100,000+ sq. ft. facility with 60+ CNC machines supporting production for high mix/ low volume projects.This company believes strongly in the development of their people, and expect this role to grow into a leadership position down the line - average tenure being 20+ years for full time employments. They will offer paid training's as well as tuition reimbursement opportunities to back this up.
Description
- Participates in product development projects within product groups as assigned by the management team, completing project objectives as outlined
- Develops and authors process of record for close tolerance tooling, providing documentation and process control points as necessary
- Evaluates current manufacturing processes and prescribe improvements
- Requires customer contact both to assist sales in answering customer questions as well as contacting the customer with problems and print question in the pre-contract stages or during production as they arise
- Participates in the final review process to match cost accounting and estimate and advise the sales force of any problems encountered
- Leads projects for customs in a one off tool shop as scheduled, including documentation of estimated cost versus actual cost
- Manages day to day orders with customers and suppliers
- Quotes work for customers
Profile
- Knowledge of 3D CAD (preferred SolidWorks)
- Experience working in a CNC environment and improving processes
- Knowledge of working with customers; reviewing prints and engineering documents to quote projects and run manufacturing programs
Nice to Have Skills:
- 4 year, Engineering degree
- CNC Programming (CAD/CAM)
- Quoting experience
Job Offer
- Base salary between: $90,000 to $110,000
- 401(k) 5% match
