Description

Lean Engineer key responsibilities:

• Lead Lean and operational excellence initiatives, including Kaizen and Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs)
• Conduct Gemba walks, coach staff, and mentor junior team members
• Implement SMED, standard work, VSM, DMAIC, PDCA, and visual management improvements
• Develop, deploy, and manage process improvement strategies and site plans
• Facilitate training and Lean education across all employee levels
• Coordinate and execute improvement projects to meet business objectives
• Engage leadership to secure buy-in and ensure successful adoption of change initiatives

Profile

Lean Engineer:

• B.S. degree in Engineer or Technical
• 12-20 years of practical Lean experience, capable of mentoring teams
• Strong Kaizen, Gemba, SMED, and VSM expertise
• Experience with continuous improvement deployment and project management
• Analytical mindset with statistical, financial, or engineering modeling skills
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities
• Results-oriented, proactive, and able to drive sustained improvements
• Familiarity with Lean tools: PDCA, DMAIC, 5S+1, Kanban, Hoshin, visual controls
