Estimator
The Estimator will be responsible for pricing upcoming high-end residential projects, developing detailed quantity takeoffs, evaluating subcontractor proposals, and producing accurate, comprehensive budgets. This role will also include estimating custom millwork packages produced by the client's in-house shop.

Our client is a premier Manhattan‑based General Contractor specializing in high-end residential interior gut renovations on luxury penthouses and townhomes across New York City. Renowned for their craftsmanship, precision, and design-driven approach, they also operate an in‑house millwork shop, allowing them to deliver fully custom, architect‑level finishes.
Description
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for the following:
- Prepare detailed estimates for high-end residential interior gut renovations
- Produce thorough quantity takeoffs for all architectural, structural, and finish scopes
- Price custom millwork packages for the in‑house fabrication shop
- Review drawings, specifications, and design packages for estimating accuracy
- Solicit, review, and level subcontractor bids
- Develop conceptual budgets and refine through design stages
- Assist in creating project scopes, value engineering options, and bid clarifications
- Collaborate with project managers and executives on cost strategies
- Maintain up‑to‑date cost databases, vendor contacts, and materials pricing
- Support proposal development and client presentations as needed

Profile
A successful Estimator should have:
- 3-7+ years of estimating experience in high-end residential construction
- Strong background in luxury interior renovations (penthouses, townhomes, brownstones)
- Direct experience estimating custom millwork strongly preferred
- Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and millwork shop drawings
- Proficiency with construction estimating software and digital takeoff tools
- Deep knowledge of finishes, materials, systems, and sequence for luxury interiors
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail
- Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate with designers and subcontractors
- Experience preparing both conceptual estimates and detailed hard bids
