Regional Financial Controller
We have an exciting new opportunity at a global education and training company. The role is based in their Miami office and will cover the 11 sites they have across the US. They are looking for a Regional Financial Controller to help manage the day to day running of the finance & accounting team.
Client Details
The client are a multinational education group with 11 sites across the United States. The finance team in the United States are based in the Miami office, and are looking for a new Regional Financial Controller to help manage the day to day finance and accounting operations. The team is made up of 18 people and the role will report directly to the Regional Finance Director. The successful candidate must have a CPA (or equivalent) qualification and will ideally have a Big 4 audit background.
Description
The successful Regional Financial Controller will:
- Lead the financial reporting and consolidation across all 11 U.S. schools, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full compliance with IFRS and Group reporting standards.
- Act as the primary financial bridge between school-level finance teams and the global group, ensuring alignment on policies, controls, and reporting requirements.
- Strengthen internal controls and financial processes, driving consistency, standardization, and risk mitigation across all regional schools.
- Serve as the region's technical accounting expert, leveraging a CPA and audit background (preferably Big 4) to resolve complex accounting matters and elevate financial rigor.
- Oversee regional audits (internal and external), ensuring high-quality audit preparedness, issue resolution, and continuous improvement of financial governance.
- Support finance system enhancements and integrations, partnering with Group Finance and IT to improve reporting tools and ensure effective adoption across schools.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to senior leadership, supporting strategic decisions, budget execution, and performance optimization across the region.
- Offer coaching and support to school-level finance teams, promoting capability-building, adherence to policy, and strong financial stewardship.
Profile
The successful Group Financial Controller:
- MUST have a CPA qualification (or equivalent) from a Big 4 CPA business
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience post-qualification
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP principles
- High attention to detail
- Eager to grow an organization that will offer a welath of mobility and progression
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Job Offer
- $150,000 - $170,000
