Plastics - Engineering Manager - Cheshire, CT
My client is seeking a skilled Engineering Manager to lead engineering projects, oversee technical teams, and drive process improvements across manufacturing operations. The role involves managing cross-functional engineering efforts, ensuring high-quality standards, and fostering innovation to support the company's growth and operational excellence.

Description
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams to support business growth.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to Project Managers and Project Engineers.
- Ensure manufacturing and project activities comply with ISO 13485:2016 and other quality standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and quality.
- Collaborate with Quality, Molding, Pad Printing, and Assembly teams to implement best practices.
- Lead projects from concept through completion, including planning, budgeting, and reporting.
- Participate in vendor selection, equipment implementation, and facility improvement initiatives.
- Oversee documentation, audits, and corrective actions to maintain high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- BS degree in a technical or scientific field (BSME preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations and management.
- Proven project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, GD&T, and continuous improvement principles.
- Familiarity with plastic injection molding processes, preferably in medical device manufacturing.
- Proficient in SolidWorks (or other 3D CAD tools), Microsoft Office, and statistical analysis.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to quality, safety, and collaboration.
