We are working with a Manufacturing client in their search to add a CMM Programmer / Quality Engineer to the team due to growth. This role is responsible for programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) using PC-DMIS software, conducting dimensional inspections, and supporting quality engineering initiatives to ensure product compliance with specifications and standards. Description
The CMM Programmer / Quality Engineer - Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:
- Develop and maintain CMM programs using PC-DMIS for inspection of complex components and assemblies.
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections using CMM and other precision measurement tools.
- Analyze inspection data and generate detailed reports to support quality documentation and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.
- Support PPAP, FAI, and other quality documentation requirements.
- Lead or assist in corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities.
- Maintain calibration and verification of measurement equipment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and process control.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 / AS9100 or other applicable standards.

Profile
The ideal CMM Programmer / Quality Engineer - Manufacturing will have the following qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality role, with hands-on CMM programming experience.
- Proficiency in PC-DMIS software is required.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Experience with metrology tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical comparators.
- Familiarity with ISO, ASME, or aerospace/automotive quality standards.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD models.
- Experience with CAD software and importing models into PC-DMIS.
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis.
- Lean Six Sigma or other quality improvement training.
- Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, medical devices, automotive).
