Local, Locust Valley, Long Island firm looking to hire a Trust & Estates Attorney to join this small, well-established, highly successful firm. This position offers the opportunity to work with an impressive local client base alongside the Founder and small team. The Founder is looking to hire a new Attorney to lead with Trust & Estates matters and play a key role as he nears retirement.

Description

The Trust & Estates Attorney will handle varied matters:

• Draft and review estate plans, including wills, trusts, and related legal documents.
• Provide legal counsel on estate administration and probate matters.
• Advise clients on tax planning strategies related to trust and estate matters.
• Represent clients in court proceedings related to trusts and estates.
• Collaborate with financial advisers and other professionals to meet client needs.
• Stay up-to-date on changes in trust and estate laws to ensure compliance.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent communication and service.
• Mentor junior staff and share expertise within the department.

Profile

The successful Trust & Estates Attorney should have:

• A Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to New York tbar.
• Proficiency in trust and estate law, including drafting legal documents.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Able to handle highly personal matters with sensitivity and warmth.
• A client-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
