IT Senior Systems Engineer

The Senior IT Systems Engineer will manage the infrastructure, enhance security, support IT team development, and oversee compliance and physical security. They'll also lead projects, facilitate tech adoption and productivity improvements, and assist with vendor management as needed.

The client encompass a range of hardware, software, and IT infrastructure critical to the organization's technology stack. This includes over 200 virtual servers operating on VMWare and Hyper-V platforms, robust enterprise backup systems, cybersecurity controls, and compliance monitoring tools. Additionally, involves systems for physical security across locations, as well as IT resources that support both back-end infrastructure and end-user needs, ensuring a reliable, secure, and efficient technological foundation for the company's operations.

Description

The Senior Systems Engineer will play a critical role in the organization reporting directly to the Head of Infrastructure. They will also handle the following:

• Oversee hardware/software, including 200+ virtual servers (VMWare, Hyper-V), and enterprise backups.
• Support and mentor the IT team, handling everything from server and network issues to end-user support.
• Strengthen cybersecurity and ensure compliance through secure architecture, backups, and testing controls.
• Help manage security across all company sites.
• Plan and execute projects within scope, budget, and timelines to meet business needs.
• Train users on new systems, improve productivity through technology, and enhance tools for workforce empowerment.
• Assist in selecting and managing vendors when needed.

Profile

• At minimum 10 years working as a Systems Engineer/Network Administrator (or similar position)
• In-depth knowledge of the following hardware and software;
  • Windows Server Operating System & related ecosystem (AD, DNS, GPO)
  • Experience with VMWare & Hyper-V virtualization platforms
  • Experience with enterprise backup solutions (NetBackup, Veeam or Zerto)
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange/Office 365
  • Experience with various SAN solutions
  • Experience supporting executive leadership
