Controller
The Controller would oversee all accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and regulatory compliance within a construction and real estate environment. They would also strengthen internal controls, monitor project financials, and provide leadership with insights to drive profitability and operational efficiency.

The Controller will
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and industry-specific requirements
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls and financial processes
- Monitor project accounting and track costs against budgets for construction/development projects
- Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions
- Lead and develop the accounting team, providing guidance and performance management
- Deliver financial insights and reporting to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making
Profile
Successful Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within construction, real estate, or project-based environments
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and percentage-of-completion accounting
- Proven experience managing financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor an accounting team
- Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience implementing and maintaining internal controls and improving financial processes
- Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial insights to senior leadership
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
