Industrial - Tool Engineering Manager - Sharon, MA
This role provides senior‑level mold design, tooling engineering, and DFM leadership for medical cable assemblies and connector products. The position oversees an internal tool shop, supports new product development and sustaining engineering, and leads tooling strategy for injection‑molded components and over‑molded assemblies. Hands‑on design review, technical mentoring, and cross‑functional collaboration are central to the role.

Hands‑on design review, technical mentoring, and cross‑functional collaboration are central to the role.
Description
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage internal toolmakers and mold design engineers.
- Conduct DFM reviews and assess tooling feasibility for new products.
- Design and review injection molds for connector components and over‑molded assemblies.
- Support tooling concepts including gating, cooling, venting, surface specs, and mold actions.
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure manufacturable, cost‑effective designs.
- Work with both domestic and offshore mold shops for design, build, and qualification.
- Support sustaining engineering with tooling issues, yield improvements, and updates.
Profile
Ideal Candidate (Shortened):
- 10+ years in mold design, tooling engineering, or toolmaking.
- Associate's degree or higher in a technical field (or equivalent hands‑on background).
- Proficient in SolidWorks and experienced in DFM for molded components.
- Background in medical device or regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience working with global manufacturing partners.
- Bonus: medical connector/cable mold design, journeyman toolmaker background, IQ/OQ/PQ familiarity.
