Assistant Controller
The client are a retail (wholesale) business that specialise in apparel and consumer products. The business operates across two main entities, and they are looking for an Assistant Controller / Senior Accountant to join the team and help manage the increased workload. The role is fully office based in their Midtown Manhattan office.
Client Details
The client are growing rapidly so are looking for an Assistant Controller to join the team and help manage the day to day accounting operations. The role will report directly into the Brand Financial Controller and will oversee the AP and AR functions. The role will grow with the company, and they are looking for a candidate that has previously worked in the retail/fashion/wholesale/consumer products industry before.
Description
The successful Assistant Controller will:
- Assist with the monthly close process
- Assist with the preparation of the financial statements
- P&L analysis, Balance sheet reconciliations, Bank reconciliations
- General Ledger, AP and AR oversight
- Monthly journal postings
- Support with the annual audit
- Monitor the licensing revenue invoicing and collections
- Ad hoc analysis
Profile
The successful Assistant Controller will:
- Have approximately 3-5 years of experience in Accounting and Finance
- MUST have worked in a consumer goods industry (ideally retail or wholesale)
- Prior experience with a finance and accounting software (MS Dynamics Great Plains)
- Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables etc.)
- High attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Happy to work full time in the Midtown Manhattan office
Job Offer
- $100,000 - $120,000
