My client is seeking a Project Engineer to support ongoing and upcoming commercial construction projects in Irvine, CA and surrounding areas. This role provides a critical link between project management, field operations, subcontractors, and design teams-ensuring efficient execution, quality control, and cost management throughout the project lifecycle.

Description

Key responsibilities for Project Engineer - Retail Construction in Irvine

• Collaborate with project managers and superintendents during all phases of construction

• Assist with scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, and material procurement

• Review and manage RFIs, submittals, drawings, and change orders

• Support job site operations, including daily reports, safety documentation, and quality inspections

• Participate in project meetings, take minutes, and follow up on action items

• Help with project closeout, punch lists, and final turnover documentation

Profile

A successful Project Engineer - Retail Construction in Irvine

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)

• 1-3 years of relevant construction industry experience (internships included)

• Familiarity with construction drawings, building codes, and commercial construction practices

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms is a plus

• OSHA 10/30 certification preferred
