Quality Assurance Manager

As a quality assurance manager you will ensure consistent delivery of high-quality products to customers by managing and executing quality systems. Facilitates effective communication and collaboration on quality concerns between suppliers, customers, and product groups. Leads efforts in continuous improvement, customer complaint resolution, supplier quality management, and strategic supplier development.

Description

The core responsibilities as a Quality Assurance Manager are:

  • Lead Quality Management: Responsible for managing the entire Quality group, serving as Management Representative, ensuring compliance, and maintaining certifications. (See company organizational chart)
  • Develop & Implement Quality Systems: Establish standards, procedures, and audits.
  • Manage Supplier & Customer Quality: Oversee supplier performance, address customer issues, and drive corrective actions.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Utilize ERP, collaborate cross-functionally, and provide team leadership.
  • Report & Document: Prepare quality reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Team Development & Training:
    • Train QC personnel, especially in customer complaint handling, enabling independent resolution.
    • Ensure technicians receive necessary training and work direction.
    • Evaluate performance and conduct appraisals.
    • Develop the skills of quality engineers, specialists, and the lab supervisor for advancement.
  • Work Prioritization: Prioritize work and estimate timing to meet requirements.

Profile

A successful quality assurance manager will:

  • Lead Quality Teams: Manage quality groups and ensure compliance.
  • Master Quality Systems: Implement and maintain robust QMS (ISO, AS, IATF).
  • Drive Improvement: Analyze data, solve problems, and enhance processes.
  • Excel in Communication: Collaborate with stakeholders and manage customer/supplier relations.
  • Develop Teams: Train, mentor, and evaluate quality personnel.
  • Minimum four years' college or equivalent experience in quality field required. BS degree preferred.
