Description
This role is crucial in supporting the accurate estimation of costs and materials for school and public infrastructure projects. As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing bid documents, cost breakdowns, and coordinating with project teams to ensure projects remain within budget.
- Develop accurate cost estimates for public sector construction projects, particularly for SCA and similar clients.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to review plans and specifications.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, including labor, materials, and other project costs.
- Monitor and track project budgets throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Provide support in negotiating contracts and managing subcontractor bids.
- Analyze and mitigate potential risks related to cost overruns or delays.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure competitive pricing and quality work.
Profile
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, specifically within the SCA or public sector construction.
- Strong understanding of estimating software, cost databases, and construction industry standards.
- Ability to think critically, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
- A detail-oriented individual with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
