Manufacturing Engineer - Aerospace/Defense - New York City

Description
- Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for precision-machined aerospace components.
- Collaborate with design and production teams to enhance manufacturability and reduce lead times.
- Utilize CAD/CAM software to develop tooling, fixtures, and machining programs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality.
- Work closely with Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with AS9100 and other aerospace standards.
- Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by developing and validating manufacturing processes.
- Train and support production staff on best practices and process improvements.
- Maintain documentation of manufacturing procedures and process control plans.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the aerospace industry.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining, GD&T, and precision manufacturing techniques.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam, or similar).
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with AS9100 and aerospace quality standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
