Director of Accounting

The Director of Accounting, will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. This position requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and the ability to drive efficiencies within the accounting function. They will collaborate with Sr. leadership to provide financial insights and contribute to the company's strategic goals.

They are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Director of Accounting to join their dynamic team and lead their accounting function. This role is crucial for ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and fostering a strong financial foundation as we continue to grow and expand our operations.

Description

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing valuable insights and analysis to senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and tax requirements, maintaining strong internal controls and proper documentation.
  • Manage audits, tax filings, and other external reporting requirements.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and supply chain, to ensure seamless financial operations.
  • Monitor and improve accounting processes and systems to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the food manufacturing or consumer goods industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, tax compliance, and internal controls.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial software (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
