Electrical Engineer | Electronics

The Electrical Engineer focuses on developing electrical circuit designs, enhancing product reliability, and improving the manufacturability of embedded electronic controls. The ideal candidate will play a key role in both new product development and ongoing product support.

Client Details

Our client has served the HVAC/R controls market place both through our OEM and Aftermarket Distribution partners. The client additionally now participates in manufacturing custom controls to a wide range of alternate markets, including controls for the Recreational Vehicle market, as well as the pool and Spa industries to name a few.

Description

  • Conduct feasibility studies and perform cost, performance, and scheduling analyses.

  • Design electrical circuits, components, and integrated systems for innovative applications.

  • Develop new ways to integrate components into products and systems to enhance functionality.

  • Create concept sketches, layouts, and detailed specifications.

  • Lead efforts in new product development, product enhancements, testing, and electrical reliability analysis.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and streamline production.

  • Incorporate cutting-edge technologies and design techniques to improve reliability and reduce costs.

  • Ensure all designs align with ISO Quality System requirements and regulatory standards.

  • Oversee the fabrication and testing of control apparatus equipment.

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to optimize designs for manufacturability and testability.

  • Assist project teams in identifying and mitigating potential development risks.

  • Review and approve new component qualifications, reliability testing, and design analyses.

  • Conduct peer reviews for schematics, layouts, and product designs to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Profile

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, troubleshooting, and analyzing electronic systems and embedded controls.

  • Strong background in electrical engineering principles and design methodologies.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficient in circuit design, including analog and digital control systems utilizing microprocessors.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot electronic assemblies down to the component level.

  • Hands-on experience using diagnostic tools and lab equipment for testing and analysis.

  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (UL, CSA, Intertek) and industry best practices.

  • Business-related computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Experience implementing process improvements within an engineered environment.

  • Leadership and mentorship skills to guide and support team members through challenges.
