Description
My client is seeking a Director of Business Development to lead and expand their federal market presence. In this critical, client-facing leadership role, you will drive new business initiatives, build and manage relationships, and strategically grow the firm's opportunities within the federal construction sector.
Responsibilities include:
- Identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities within the federal construction market
- Cultivate relationships with government agencies, contractors, and industry partners
- Work closely with Proposal Manager and Senior Leadership to strategize and pursue targeted opportunities
- Represent the company at industry events, client meetings, and networking functions
- Maintain a strong understanding of the federal construction landscape to position the company competitively
- Potential to grow and lead the Business Development department over time
Profile
- 5+ years of business development experience in the construction industry
- Federal construction background with a proven understanding of secure project environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills - polished, professional, and comfortable in high-level client interactions
- Ability to apply for and pass an extensive background check (active or prior clearance is a strong plus)
- Strategic, self-motivated, and results-driven mindset
- Team-player mentality, willing to collaborate with leadership and operational teams
- Familiarity with construction technologies/software is welcomed but not required
Job Offer
- Base Salary: $130,000+ (commensurate with experience)
- Annual Bonus: Up to 20%
