Plant Manager - Chemical - Waterbury, CT

The Plant Manager will oversee daily operations, ensure production targets are met, and maintain a safe and efficient work environment. This role requires strong leadership and a commitment to optimizing processes in the Engineering & Manufacturing department within the chemical industry.

Description

  • Lead and manage all plant operations to meet production goals and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize manufacturing processes and introduce new technologies.
  • Oversee inventory management and ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor plant staff to foster a high-performing team.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring financial targets are met.

Profile

A successful Plant Manager should have:

  • A strong background in Engineering & Manufacturing, preferably within the chemical, paint, plastic or coatings industry.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Experience in operational management, including production planning and process optimization.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to manufacturing operations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a results-driven mindset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
