Sr. Project Manager - Commercial GC - Wilmington
Join a dynamic and well-established General Contractor based out of NC with multiple regional offices, hiring in Wilmington. With a diversified project portfolio, they look for people who are both passionate about building buildings but also teams and relationships.

For over 50 years, this construction firm has built relationships with public and private clients throughout North & South Carolina and shaped the landscape of communities. Their portfolio spans over 10 different market segments, with capabilities in project delivery from municipal, to light industrial, to commercial interiors. With a growing focus on design/build pursuits, they're looking for people who enjoy taking projects from concept to reality.
Description
- Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones; coordinate scope and resource allocation.
- Prepare and monitor budgets, approve expenditures, and manage contracts with subcontractors and vendors.
- Lead and coordinate project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Ensure work meets standards, conduct inspections, and resolve on-site issues.
- Identify risks, address delays or design changes, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Serve as the primary contact, provide progress updates, and align with client expectations.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and manage project close-out activities.
- Enforce safety standards, ensure regulatory compliance, and conduct safety training as needed.
Profile
- 10+ years of construction experience with a general contractor required
- Must have large-scale projects experience over $20M
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
- Applicable project management software proficiency (Procore, CMiC, P6)
- Thorough understanding of corporate and construction industry best practices, processes, standards, etc.
- Excellent communication skills, business aptitude, and professional character
- Preconstruction expertise required, ideally in the design/build process
