Strategic Sourcing Manager - Chemicals
The Strategic Sourcing Manager - Chemicals will lead sourcing strategies and supplier management for a portfolio of chemical raw materials and intermediates. This individual will be responsible for identifying and developing global and domestic supply sources, negotiating complex agreements, and driving cost savings and value creation.

Description
- Develop and execute category strategies for direct and indirect chemical spend, ensuring alignment with company goals on cost, quality, sustainability, and innovation.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for chemical raw materials, solvents, intermediates, additives, and related commodities.
- Lead contract negotiations for pricing, service levels, risk-sharing, and terms; ensure compliance with corporate procurement and legal standards.
- Track market trends, feedstock pricing, geopolitical shifts, and regulatory changes to anticipate risk and build sourcing resiliency.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, EHS, Operations, and Finance to align sourcing strategies with product development, compliance, and production schedules.
- Drive cost reduction, working capital optimization, and supply continuity through strategic initiatives such as supplier consolidation, dual sourcing, and should-cost modeling.
- Monitor supplier performance and lead periodic reviews using KPIs for quality, delivery, cost, and service.
- Lead or support sustainability and ESG initiatives within the chemical supply chain, including responsible sourcing and supplier diversity.
- Support SAP or ERP system updates, sourcing analytics, and digital procurement initiatives.

Profile
A successful Strategic Sourcing Manager - Chemicals should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master's degree or MBA preferred).
- 5-10 years of strategic sourcing or procurement experience, with significant exposure to chemical categories.
- Deep understanding of global chemical markets, logistics, compliance (e.g., REACH, TSCA), and supplier risk.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier relationship management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of influencing senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
