Senior Accountant

Our client, a well-known retailer of quality apparel, household and food items, based in Manhattan, is looking for a Senior Accountant. This is a full time role, and the successful candidate has retail experience & 3+ years of experience as an Accountant.

Our client, a well-known retail brand based in Manhattan. This FTE role is 5 days per week in office for the first 3 months, before offering 1 day of hybrid flexibility. It offers the chance to work with an international multi-faceted brand known for their quality.

Description

This role will involve:

1. Over 3-5 year experience in Finance and accounting

2. AP/AR transaction, cash and bank reconciliation, Fixed assets management

3. General accounting experience(Journal entry, payroll, accrual, and so on)

4. Sales and Inventory management,

5. Treasury and cash management

6. Vendor master management

7. Preparing financial statement(BS, PL,CF) and reporting packages to parent company

8. Financial analysis(budget management, cost control)

9. Knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS

10. Corporate governance(legal compliance, SOX, fraud prevention, risk control)

11. Experience of accounting software(Quick book, Xero, Navision etc), SAP and Oracle are preferable

12. Experience of standardized operation changes such as introducing system implementation, changing effective operation

13. Enough excel skill to work in accounting(basic formula should be required, such as IF, SUMIF, VLOOK etc)

14. Tax experience(sales tax, corporate tax)

15. International taxation(Transfer pricing), preferable

16. Retail industry experience(preferable)

17. CPA and other license holder(preferable)

18. Good communication skill to internal/external

Profile

The successful candidate will have:

• 3-5 years of Accounting experience
• Retail / Public / Private Mix is preferred
• CRM / Excel experience
• Ability to come in and get to work quickly, hit the ground running
• Ability to communicate with senior leaders / working with inter company (communicating with team in Japan)
• Experience of standardized operation changes such as introducing system implementation, changing effective operation

• Tax experience(sales tax, corporate tax)
