Our client, a prominent commercial and government general contractor with over 65 years of experience, is a top 400 ENR contractor involved in a diverse range of projects, including commercial, education, healthcare, civic, municipal, and government sectors. Originally based in California, they are expanding to the Maryland area to support a client and have several upcoming projects at the Indian Head military base. They are seeking an experienced Superintendent to join their team and lead exciting, high-profile projects.
Description
The Superintendent - USACE/NAVFAC Projects - Potomac Heights, MD will be responsible for:
- Oversee and manage daily operations for multiple projects with budgets up to $30 million.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and budget constraints.
- Supervise both self-performed and subcontracted work, ensuring high performance from subcontractors.
- Provide estimates and oversee construction methods and practices related to commercial and institutional buildings.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards while maintaining up-to-date safety certifications.
- Monitor and report project progress to senior management, addressing any issues promptly to ensure timely execution.
- Utilize project management software and other tools to track status, costs, and timelines efficiently.
Profile
The Superintendent - USACE/NAVFAC Projects - Potomac Heights, MD will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred, or alternatively, 7+years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 7 years of experience working with a commercial or industrial general contractor, or 12+ years of applicable experience in the field.
- Demonstrated success in managing construction projects, including estimating and overseeing both subcontracted and self-performed work.
- Familiarity with construction techniques for commercial and institutional buildings, as well as site development.
- Preferred: A minimum of 5 years of experience in government contracting.
- Current certifications in OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR are required.
- CQC certification from USACE/NAVFAC is advantageous.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance is a beneficial asset.
Job Offer
The Superintendent - USACE/NAVFAC Projects - Potomac Heights, MD will receive:
- Attractive salary of up to $160,000.
