Senior Project Accountant

Seeking an experienced Senior Project Accountant to manage billing, project cost accounting, and process improvements for construction projects.

Description

• Manage the monthly customer billing cycle, ensuring timely and accurate communication with clients regarding payment requirements.

• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances as necessary.

• Process subcontractor payments in accordance with established timelines and accuracy standards.

• Collect and maintain compliance documentation.

• Participate in job close-out activities.

• Support internal and external audits while ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls.

• Identify and implement process improvements and enhancements in the ERP system.

• Contribute to core accounting functions, including:

  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger reconciliations

  • Month-end and year-end close processes

  • Preparation of financial reports and account analyses

  • Review of account and bank reconciliations

  • Development and application of financial controls and procedures

Profile

• In-depth knowledge of construction project accounting

• 5+ years of experience in project accounting

• Proven track record in project invoicing and billing

• Strong grasp of job cost accounting, percentage-of-completion revenue recognition, and WIP reporting

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal project management teams and external partners

• Process improvement mindset and problem-solving skills

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

• Experience with CMiC (preferred)

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
