My client, a highly respected general contracting firm with a strong presence in government, institutional, and commercial projects, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their team. With $120M+ in revenue and a robust backlog of projects, they specialize in high-profile, complex construction work across multiple business units.

My Client is a highly respected construction company with over 100 employees and a network of hundreds of subcontractors and consultants. With annual revenues exceeding $100M, My Client operates across three key business units: Secure Projects (federal/government work for agencies such as the CIA and GSA), Regional Projects (municipality work for public schools and housing authorities), and WorldBank Projects. Notable clients include major federal agencies like the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security, as well as institutional clients such as airlines and quasi-public agencies like the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA). Description
As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead the cradle-to-grave aspects of complex commercial and institutional construction projects, ensuring successful execution from preconstruction through completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee multiple large-scale projects, typically valued between $7M - $10M
Manage all project phases, including estimating, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and execution
Supervise subcontracted work and self-performed activities, ensuring quality and compliance
Lead teams across various contract delivery methods: IDIQ, Lump-Sum, Design/Build, and Fast Track contracts
Maintain strong client relationships with high-profile institutional and federal agencies
Ensure safety compliance (OSHA 30, First Aid, CPR) and project-specific certifications
Utilize Procore and ProjNet for project management and documentation
Drive continuous improvement in construction processes and cost control
Profile
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned construction professional with extensive experience in managing federal and institutional projects. Qualifications include:
B.S. in Engineering or Construction Management (or 20+ years of relevant experience without a degree)
10-15+ years in commercial and/or industrial general contracting
Proven experience as a lead project manager on $5M+ projects for USACE or WHS
Strong working knowledge of government contracting (5-7 years preferred)
Expertise in construction means, methods, and industry best practices
Professional certifications such as Associate Constructor (AC), Certified Professional Constructor (CPC), or PE preferred
U.S. Citizenship is required for federal project access
