Lead Program Manager - Defense - Portsmouth, NH

The Lead Program Manager drives complex initiatives from concept through completion, bringing together cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact results. This role plays a key part in guiding strategy, execution, and collaboration across the organization to ensure successful outcomes on critical programs

Description

This position will report directly into the Director of Program Management and be responsible for:

  • Defining and implementing program objectives, strategies, and execution plans in alignment with customer and company goals
  • Serving as the primary customer interface, managing communications, satisfaction, and program expectations
  • Overseeing the cost, schedule, and performance across all assigned programs
  • Leading risk management processes and maintaining risk mitigation plans
  • Reviewing and coordinating project schedules, deliverables, and milestones with functional leads
  • Ensuring timely completion of program deliverables and effective reporting of progress and results
  • Facilitating communication among stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Conducting regular project reviews and lead status meetings to ensure alignment and accountability

Profile

A successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred), or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of program or project management experience within a complex technical, manufacturing, or aerospace/defense environment
  • Strong background in stakeholder communication, scheduling, and risk management
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and cross-functional teams
  • Strong MS Project experience, especially EVM
  • Strong understanding of NPI process (design reviews, phase gate, etc.)
