Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Manager with 5+ years of experience in commercial interior construction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex projects from pre-construction through to completion. As a Project Manager at [Company Name], you will be responsible for overseeing all phases of commercial interior projects, ensuring that they are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Coordination: Lead and manage multiple commercial interior projects simultaneously, from pre-construction to project closeout, ensuring that each project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the client's specifications.
- Team Leadership: Coordinate and supervise project teams, including subcontractors, vendors, and internal staff. Provide direction and support to ensure all tasks are completed effectively and efficiently.
- Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships, addressing concerns, and providing regular project updates. Ensure client expectations are met or exceeded throughout the project lifecycle.
- Budget & Cost Management: Develop and maintain project budgets, manage change orders, and track project costs to ensure financial targets are met. Proactively identify and address cost-saving opportunities.
- Scheduling: Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring that key milestones are met, and deadlines are adhered to. Coordinate with all stakeholders to resolve scheduling conflicts and delays.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure all necessary permits and approvals are obtained.
- Quality Control: Oversee all quality control aspects of the project to ensure work meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and meeting notes. Provide regular status reports to senior management and clients.
Profile
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in commercial interior construction. Previous experience with general contracting, tenant improvement, or renovation projects in NYC is preferred.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. PMP or other project management certifications are a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, Microsoft Project). Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and best practices. Familiarity with NYC building codes and regulations.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and make decisions under pressure.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges and provide practical solutions.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
