Manufacturing Engineer - Sturbridge, Massachusetts
My client is seeking is seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support and improve CNC machining operations. This role will focus on optimizing production processes, developing tooling strategies, and ensuring the efficient manufacture of tight-tolerance components.

Description
Reporting into the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
- Develop, document, and optimize machining processes for CNC lathes.
- Design and implement fixtures, tooling, and programs to improve productivity and quality.
- Collaborate with production staff to troubleshoot process issues and reduce cycle times.
- Lead new job setups and support the transition from prototype to production.
- Analyze machining performance, yields, and tooling life to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives and 5S standards across the shop floor.
- Provide technical guidance and training to machinists and operators.
- Ensure manufacturing processes comply with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standards.
Profile
A successful Manufacturing Engineer will have:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or related technical field); equivalent experience considered.
- 2+ years of experience in a precision machining environment; experience with CNC machinery preferred.
- Proficient in G-code programming and CAM software (e.g., Esprit, PartMaker, or Mastercam).
- Understanding of GD&T.
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Familiarity with statistical process control and root cause methodologies.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work on cross-functional teams.
