MEP Estimator
We are seeking a highly skilled MEP Estimator to support preconstruction efforts on complex commercial, mission‑critical, healthcare, and institutional projects. This role is ideal for a technical, detail‑driven estimator who excels in evaluating mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, low voltage, and technology systems from conceptual through final construction documents.

They are regarded as an industry leader in large‑scale, MEP‑intensive work, including mission‑critical, biotech/pharmaceutical, healthcare, higher education, and advanced technology projects, requiring deep system analysis and accurate early‑phase estimating.
Description
- Prepare detailed MEP estimates including Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Technology, and Low Voltage systems from conceptual design through full construction documents.
- Perform quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and scope studies for all MEP trades.
- Evaluate existing conditions, contract documents, and site constraints to identify scope gaps or missing system components.
- Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment vendors to obtain accurate pricing.
- Conduct constructability reviews and communicate design coordination issues to the project team.
- Participate in value engineering and life‑cycle analysis to propose system alternatives that reduce cost without affecting performance.
- Lead the preparation of scopes, bid packages, leveling sheets, and procurement recommendations.
- Assist in preparing GMP proposals, cost models, and budget updates.
- Support preconstruction meetings and handoff sessions with operations teams.
- May supervise Assistant Estimators or interns.
Profile
- 3-7+ years of MEP estimating experience (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, FP, Technology, LV Systems).
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical distribution, lighting, fire protection, controls, and low‑voltage systems.
- Ability to perform conceptual estimating and clearly communicate assumptions.
- Excellent ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical data.
- Strong vendor and subcontractor relationship‑building skills.
- Proficiency with estimating software and digital takeoff tools.
- Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills for interaction with design teams, owners, and internal preconstruction staff.
Job Offer
- Base Salary: $126,000 - $141,000
- Total Compensation (with bonus): $120,000 - $165,000
- Bonus Range: 10-20%
- Vehicle/Allowance: $500 - $900/month (varies by GC & region)
- Additional Incentives: Certification reimbursement, training allowances, annual merit increases, tech stipend
