Sr. Electrical Design Engineer | Renewables

As the Sr. Electrical Design Engineer you will design, develop, and test electrical systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration into our product solutions. As the key liaison with UL and accreditation agencies, you will ensure compliance with NEC standards and other regulatory requirements.

Automation Controllers, Programmable Controllers, Plantwide Control Software, Environmental Controls, Sensors and Safety, Industrial Enclosures, Drives and Drives Systems, Motion Control, Industrial Controls, Weighing Solutions, Motor Control Centers, AC and DC Motors, Industrial Networks and Communications.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Product Development: Work with customer product development teams to create electrical products for production by our manufacturing team.
  2. Documentation: Create comprehensive and accurate documentation, including schematics, control panel layouts, bills of materials, and design specifications when required.
  3. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales engineers, customer engineers, and internal production team to ensure the seamless integration of our electrical product solutions.
  4. Prototyping: Requires working closely with our customers on the design and our production team to ensure success in providing a cost-effective and timely product solution.
  5. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all electrical designs comply with NEC industry standards and UL and other regulatory agencies.
  6. Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements to incorporate cutting-edge technologies into product designs.

Profile

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering supplemented with Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  2. Proven experience in electrical design of systems with power distribution and controls in the Alternative Energy and Automation markets.
  3. Proficiency in CAD tools for development of schematics and layouts, specifically with AutoCAD Electrical. Use of manufacturing MRP system (Epicor) or equivalent is required.
  4. Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, NEC codes and UL requirements.
  5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  6. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  7. Knowledge of UL508A, UL698A, and others as added to further our UL certification in the industries were pursuing. Is the key contact with UL and other approval agencies.
  8. Experience developing pre-engineered solutions for sales proposals to secure new business.
