I'm partnered with the Division Controller at a rapidly growing, billion dollar organization located near Mundelein, IL (offering remote working flexibility) as they are looking to add an Accountant to their team! Reporting to the Division Controller with tons of visibility to senior leadership, you will be responsible for assisting in the month-end close process and general accounting responsibilities for one of their most profitable divisions, and identifying process improvements/procedures within the accounting department for the overall division.

Description
Accountant Responsibilities:
- Assist the Division Controller in the month-end close process, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other financial reports.
- Ensure accuracy, compliance with accounting standards, and timely submission to management and corporate headquarters.
- Establish and maintain effective internal control processes to safeguard assets, ensure compliance with company policies, and prevent fraud. Conduct periodic internal audits as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting principles (e.g., Generally Accepted Accounting Principles - GAAP), and corporate policies.
- Reconcile inventory accounts between the general ledger and physical counts.
- Prepare and present inventory-related financial reports to senior management, including analysis of inventory turnover, gross margins, and other key metrics.
- Collaborate with the purchasing, operations, and sales teams to ensure inventory levels are properly managed and aligned with financial records.
Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA strongly preferred
- 3+ years of experience in Accounting
- Manufacturing, distribution, or related industry experience preferred
- Cost/Inventory experience a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge
- Knowledge of GAAP
- SAP system experience preferred
