Manufacturing Engineer - Marlborough, MA
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for implementing lean processes, equipment, and tooling for new and redesigned products, focusing on improving manufacturing efficiency. They collaborate with the new product development team to drive cost reductions, improve processes, and minimize waste and rework.

Description
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for scheduling, budgeting, and completing all tasks for new product projects.
- Ensure accurate and timely cost reporting, review product designs for manufacturability, design completeness, and assess the impact of new products on each production department.
- Manage the conceptual design, ordering, and timely implementation of tooling.
- Coordinate tooling, materials, equipment, and methods to produce high-quality products at the lowest cost.
- Create and maintain the production documentation package.
- Lead Kaizen initiatives and implement lean tools such as 5S, Poka-Yoke, Visual Management, TPM, Quick Change, Single Piece Flow, and Kanban.
- Review existing products and processes to identify improvements that reduce scrap, rework, direct labor costs, setup time, quality issues, and lead times.
- Conduct experiments to determine optimal manufacturing processes.
- Prepare cost analysis to justify new or reworked tooling.
- Troubleshoot tooling, processes, and equipment both internally and externally for assigned products.
- Oversee the scheduling and budgeting of related projects.
- Investigate, specify, and justify the purchase of new capital equipment.
- Coordinate the installation and integration of new equipment and processes.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- A Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technology-related field (e.g., BSME, BSGE, BSIE).
- At least 5 years of experience in relevant roles.
- Strong knowledge of various manufacturing processes, materials, equipment, and tools.
- Proven ability to manage capital and new product projects from concept through successful implementation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Project Management experience is preferred.
