Assistant Project Manager - Commercial Interiors
We're hiring an Assistant Project Manager to support a $5M retail interior renovation in Midtown Manhattan. You'll work directly with a seasoned Project Manager and be positioned for a PM promotion within 9 months.
Client Details
This is a well-established, Manhattan-based general contractor with a sharp focus on commercial interior buildouts-primarily office and retail gut renovations ranging from $1M-$50M. Known for its steady growth and quality execution, the firm has doubled its project volume in the past year and consistently earns repeat business. They frequently collaborate on joint ventures with top-tier firms like Turner, Skanska, and Gilbane across all five boroughs.
Description
Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants
Track budgets, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
Assist in managing the construction schedule and site logistics
Lead project documentation and client reporting
Participate in weekly meetings and site walkthroughs
Profile
You're an organized and proactive APM with at least 3 years of experience working for a general contractor. You've supported projects in the office or retail interiors space and want to grow into a PM role. You're comfortable working in fast-paced NYC construction environments, and you bring both follow-through and foresight to your work.
Job Offer
Base salary: $65K-$90K
Quarterly bonus structure + profit-sharing
20 days of PTO + 401(k) with company match
PM promotion review after 9 months
