Industrial - Production Manager - Ipswich, MA
This Production Manager role is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing all fabrication, assembly, and installation operations. The role ensures that products are delivered on time with flawless quality while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across the plant.

Description
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily plant operations to meet targets for safety, quality, cost, and production.
- Plan and execute all fabrication, assembly, and installation operations.
- Champion a Safety-First culture and implement programs to minimize workplace injuries.
- Lead, mentor, and coach supervisors and team leads to build strong, accountable teams.
- Drive high quality and product consistency while reducing defects.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Standard Work, root cause problem solving) to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
- Manage labor, overhead, and inventory costs to drive financial performance.
- Collaborate with project managers, purchasing, and other departments to execute operational plans.
- Monitor capacity and resource allocation to ensure on-time delivery.
- Manage operational KPIs and communicate performance to leadership.
- Participate actively in the S&OP process and ensure inventory control.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years as a Production Supervisor or Manager in a manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years in a Make-to-Order or Engineered-to-Order business.
- Experienced in production planning, safety excellence, and quality control principles.
- Knowledgeable in Lean Daily Management, Kaizen, 5S, Tier meetings, gemba walks, and problem solving.
- Strong project management, leadership, and team management skills.
- Skilled in financial management, analytics, and decision-making.
- Familiar with ERP/MRP systems and excellent communication skills.
- Preferred: Working knowledge of ISO standards.
