Director of Business Development - HVAC/ Refrigeration
Joing a company with YoY growth of 20%, where you will lead their sales team and help drive new businsess in an outbound management setting.
Client Details
Our client is a fast-growing custom manufacturer of industrial and commercial refriegration products, including freezers, walk-in cooling systems, cold storage, and insulated panels. The company was recently acquired by a private equity group and are looking to futther their business development strategies to many well-known retail, grocery, distributor, liquor, and restaurants in New England.
Description
- Business Strategy & Growth: Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to drive market expansion and increase revenue for the industrial refrigeration division.
- Market Analysis: Research and identify key industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activities. Use this information to identify opportunities and threats in the market.
- Lead Generation & Sales: Generate new leads and business opportunities by leveraging existing networks, attending industry events, and conducting targeted outreach. Convert prospects into long-term customers.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and partners. Ensure customer satisfaction and work to resolve any issues or concerns.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, marketing, and operations teams to ensure product offerings meet customer needs and are aligned with business goals.
- Sales Forecasting & Reporting: Monitor and report on sales performance, market trends, and business opportunities. Provide regular updates to senior management on business development activities and results.
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead and mentor the business development team, providing guidance and support to ensure individual and team goals are achieved.
- Contract Negotiation: Oversee contract negotiations and ensure terms are favorable to the company while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Profile
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field. An MBA is a plus.
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar leadership role, preferably within the industrial refrigeration, HVAC, or manufacturing sectors.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of industrial refrigeration technologies, systems, and applications. Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, EPA).
- Proven track record of successful sales and business development in a technical or industrial setting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build strategic relationships with customers, partners, and internal teams.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

- $120,000 - $160,000 base salary and uncapped bonus structure.
