Assistant Project Manager - Multifamily - NoVA

My client is seeking a driven Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join their team in either Arlington, VA or Alexandria, VA. This is not your average APM role - we're looking for someone who brings energy, creativity, and a collaborative mindset to the table. You'll be on-site in a field office, working directly with your Superintendent counterpart, as well as subcontractors, consultants, and the client. You'll play a key part in the day-to-day operations and overall success of complex, high-value projects.

Their portfolio includes multifamily housing, student housing, life science facilities, hospitality developments, and commercial office spaces, with typical project values ranging from $50M to $200M+

Description

• Support project delivery from preconstruction through close-out

• Coordinate with field staff, subcontractors, and client stakeholders

• Maintain project documentation and tracking systems

• Assist in managing project schedules, budgets, and logistics

• Monitor construction progress and support quality control efforts

• Attend and contribute to on-site meetings

• Help drive problem-solving and decision-making alongside project leadership

Profile

• 3-7 years of experience in an Assistant Project Manager role (5+ years preferred)

• Background in vertical construction; experience in multifamily projects is ideal

• Proven track record on projects valued at $50M+

• Strong on-site presence with a proactive, hands-on approach

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Eager to grow, solve problems, and work as part of a high-performing team

Job Offer

• Base Salary: $110,000-$135,000 (commensurate with experience)

• Bonus eligibility
